For many years the United Nations Association in Canada, Edmonton Branch, has been pleased to support the Seminar on the United Nations and International Affairs (SUNIA) by providing a scholarship to a deserving high school student from Northern Alberta.
SUNIA is a week-long summer program for high school students that runs every August at the Goldeye Centre in the Rocky Mountains near Nordegg, Alberta. Since 1952, SUNIA has provided a unique and exciting opportunity for students from around the world to connect and discuss world issues in a picturesque setting. At SUNIA, students have the opportunity to engage in a simulated United Nations Security Council and a development simulation in order to explore complex global issues — all while surrounded by the majestic Alberta Rocky Mountains.
The scholarship covers the $475 participation fee. For details and to apply, visit http://www.sunia.ca/sponsorship-page/unac-edmonton-scholarship.
The application deadline is June 1, 2014.
