Lewis Cardinal is a communicator and educator, he has dedicated his work to creating and maintaining connections and relationships that cross-cultural divides. His work has mirrored his personal vision of a socially just and responsive society. His long track record of public service includes founding board member of Racism Free Edmonton, Vice President of the John Humphrey Centre for Peace and Human Rights, founding Board Member of Alberta Aboriginal Arts, Board Director for the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters, Co-Chair of the Aboriginal Commission for Human Rights and Justice, and Trustee of the Council for a Parliament of World Religions to mention a few.

His presentation will cover
· Indigenous Traditions of the Individual and the Collective: the Person and the Nation;
· United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and the gathering of global Indigenous Peoples and the gathering of Voice; and
· The unexpected gifts of collective rights.
