Lecture and speaker information
Stephanie Bishop recently returned from a one year leave of absence to pursue an opportunity as an international volunteer co-operant through World University Services of Canada (WUSC) / Uniterra in Botswana. Botswana has one of the highest HIV prevalence rates in the world and is challenged to address the impacts of this major public health issue on its population and economy. Stephanie will present on her experiences working on a project to strengthen the capacity of national civil society organizations to respond to the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
Stephanie Bishop is a Past President and long time member of the United Nations Association in Canada, Edmonton Branch. She recently returned from a one-year leave from her job with Health Canada in Edmonton. Although she misses the Botswana sun and weekend safaris, she is happy to be back, and is getting reacquainted with her winter boots and snow shovel.
